My journey with a 3M Scientist

Welcome back to my blog post. Today I am going to talk about how my summer mentorship has helped me along the way.

First, I want to say that it is such an honor to have this opportunity to work with 3M and 3M scientist Dr. Kannan Seshadri. I am very grateful to have him as my mentor as I have really enjoyed working with him throughout my journey for this 3M young scientist challenge. He has always supported me and helped me to think how real scientist approach to solve real life problems. By working with him I was able to boost my confidence and problem-solving abilities.

For the past few months, I met my mentor almost every week and we discussed and explored new approaches, applications, and new experiments. We discussed about different factors that need to be experimented so that my project can get one step closer to the real-world application.

The best part of the process was experimenting my ideas and being able to see how successful my project was and how it will be able to solve real world problems.

The most challenging part is when I had to examine and understand why some of my prototypes were not successful. Every failure that I have come across is the basis of a new idea, solution, and innovation.

During the time I have worked with my mentor, I have learned new concepts, improved my scientific knowledge, learned to analyze my experiments, and many other things.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all in my next blog. Thank you.
